CHICO
7/31/2006 1:14 PM

Well, I had a very exciting weekend.  Was really looking forward to a fun-filled

two nights of racing plus a chance to visit with many folks.

Departed Friday morning around 6:45 and was just driving along thinking about

Chico when I heard a "noise" and noticed the little motorhome was slowing down.

I happened to look in the mirror and saw nothing but SMOKE trailing behind me.

Pulled over and turned it off.  Turned it back on and put it in gear and...NOTHING...

regardless of what gear I tried!Sad [:(]  Called AAA and got towed to a transmissions shop.

Was able (after two hours) to FINALLY get a rental car and continue my trip to Chico.

Got on the phone and was able to get a room at the OXFORD SUITES so was near the

rig.

Wonderful night of racing on Friday evening...especially since Jonathan won and DMJ

had a good run too.

I hated what happend on Saturday night since it was the last night for DMJ to drive the

Zero car.  Not the way you want your "ride" to end.  Dennis is very fan-friendly and will

be missed out here.  I know he is trying to work something out so time will tell.

Jonathan held NOTHING back both nights as he is a racer and it showed.  I am happy for

him and the entire team.

Got to ESPECIALLY thank the Padjens.  They were so kind.  They made a nice weekend out

of one which did not get off to a very good start.  John told me Robbie had instructed him

to keep space #9 for my little motorhome and he told her, "Leon isn't here!"  We got a laugh

when I finally arrived and shared the "adventures" of the day.

Got to visit with a number of folks.  chicofan (and thanks for posting the info about the team, etc)

Gary Thomas, Pace Truck Chuck (what an animal), CarWash Mike (always nice in spite of some

of those "hangers-on"Big Smile [:D] as well as Amanda and Jeremy.  Great weekend....wonderful people...and

made it home safely.  Now, all I have to do is wait for my m/h to get fixed and take the shop $2K.

There goes THE NATIONALS for me.  Oh well, just got a phone call.  Had ANOTHER CAT Scan

last Monday and they tell me there is NOTHING there.  Praise the Lord.  God is good....ALL THE
TIME.

Have a great day, folks.  I know I will.

Leon - You know, over time I believe I have seen a pattern with your (im)mobile home.

Looking on the good side, a few more incidents like this and it should be completely rebuilt! Tongue Out [:P]

Good to see you again OW. Or is it now WO?

I wish I could have made it up there both nights. Would've been nice to see JA win. Like you say, disapointing for Dennis and his last ride in the 0k.

Congrats to Jonathan, Morrie, and the crew on the championships. Great bunch of guys.

Also congrats to JA for picking up Fast Time Saturday night. It was worth $800 thanks to fans who put it up. ManCamp Motorsports, Hoserville California, and JP's Paint & Body Works.

Also thanks to Robbie Padjen, Troy Hennig, and everyone at JPM

Looking forward to the Gold Cup Race of Champions.

Great talking to you and hope to see you at The Gold Cup with the motorhome completely functional.  Big Smile [:D]

No, I am not in the photo!Sad [:(]

My level of sponsorship and/or involvement no longer warrants that.

Also, the photographer told me I was causing a "glare" (forgot to wear a hat)

and the pic would turn out better if I were NOT included!Sad [:(]

I was limping somewhat as Pace Truck Chuch, IN MY OPINION, had attempted

to run over me earlier in the pits.

I WILL GET MY REVENGE!!!!Angry [:angry]  I am going to the Gold Cup (Lord willing)

and NOT in my motorhome.  Taking the F150 crewcab (if it will make it there) and staying

at the Marriott Courtyard near the track.  Have plans to drive my truck over and visit

some "camping areas" during the day.  Being older, I am somewhat more sly!!!!

And Eagle, did you know...AT ONE TIME....I was 6-8, weighed 267 and played forward for

the Lakers????  There is one truth in those three facts.  Can you guess which one?Big Smile [:D]

Just good remembery actually Leon.

I remember seeing a picture of you once upon a time, so that left out the height, and since when you WOULD have played for the Lakers they were in Milwaukee....that only left B.Big Smile [:D]

OK, Leon,  I would never try to run over you........... but if I were trying, it would have been a done deal!

In addition, just who is it that you think you are older and slyer than???????     Smile [:)]
