Former University President Indicted

Former Texas Southern University President Priscilla Slade was indicted Tuesday.....

....by a grand jury following accusations she misspent hundreds of thousands of school dollars to furnish and landscape her home.

Slade, 54, was indicted on two charges of criminally misusing university money for her private benefit.

Slade, who served as president of the historically black university for more than six years, has denied any wrongdoing and has filed a civil lawsuit against the school.

If convicted, Slade faces anywhere from five years of probation to life in prison, and a fine of up to $20,000. A judge set her bail at $100,000.

She brought suit against the school for wrongful termination.....claiming she just assumed as a black woman she had a right to use the schools (SEE: taxpayers) money to pay to furnish her home. Shakehead [:shakehead]

20 years minimum. No parole. TSU is a "historically black" university.

It it also historically a cesspool of corruption.

That helps explain the downsizing and tuition hike. Shameful.

would you have posted this if the person indicted was white???

What does the fact that the Univeristy is "historically black" have to do with anything?

YEP.

Reverse discrimination, set-asides, "diversity" progams, affirmative action, entitlements and "historically black" colleges are nothing but feel good attempts by the hand-wringing, bed-wetting pillow-biters of this country to appease the black population........so they will continue to vote for their candidates in political office at a 90+% rate.

This University, as well as Prarie View A&M up the road in Waller County have a long and storied history of turning out under prepared graduates. After spending their time.....and money......seeking a higher education at one of these institutions, the grads.....("historically black"...with a few exceptions)..... have little to show for their time and efforts.

Many of the School of Education graduates from this particular insitution of higher learning can't even pass the entrance exam to become certified teachers here in Texas.

Tell me this, highbank. Do you believe the students who attend these schools are being served by the "historically black" Administrators and Board Members who pull the strings and call the shots where these folks education is concerned?
