Great race today and lots of fans in the stands.
I have always been a supporter of Danica, but she is wearing pretty thin these days. About all she did today was complain about her car. I would guess that being a part of Andretti/Green Racing that all there cars are set up pretty much the same and Kannan, Marco and Muto didn't seem to be complaining about thier cars. Supposedly Danica had a big understeer today. Every race she seems to have a problem with her car. I think Danica needs to shut her pie hole and do her talking on the race track.

I have never supported Danica and I don't now. However....
I think her performance problems are based on driver/car development issues. I think that these cars are very dependent on driver input in the sessions that runup before the race... practice and testing. I don't think that she has She doesn't have the knowledge and background to provide that.
These teams are very dependent on data aquisition, but like F1 and other single seater, high data series, the driver still has to communicate what they want in order to be comfortable and go fast. Even within teams that usually takes a different setup.
That's a lack of experience.

Bandman,
I agree to a certain extent with the experience comment but I think with Panica the primary issue is talent.
She has the very best of the best across the board including coaching and runs mid pack race after race. Having a pretty face does not make you fast.
Just look at her history in Europe
Put Sarah in that car for a year and see what you get. Faster than Panica off the trailer at Indy with second hand stuff.
As much as I despise the Andretti team if you can't go fast with that kind of logistical support and coaching talent behind you , the problem is yours. Mario and Michael ,for all the ego involved can still both coach .
Not to mention what Kanaan brings to the table.
One of my best friends works for AGR in Indy and the talk around the shop is not compiments regarding Panica or Marco for that matter.
On the other hand the mechanics and crews just idolize Tony..............

She is a middle of the pack racer. Qualifies ok, but once the racing starts, she takes one of the top 7 or 8 cars in th field and drives back to middle of the pack and takes it easy, then as the agressive top 8 or 9 racers run away from her, a few will crash, and she will end up with a top 10 finish. As her crew chief told her during last quarter of the race, after she had been in 12th position most of race, "remember Japan", i.e., we might get a pit strategy win again. The only way this brat will get another win.
BUT, an awesome race. These Indy Car ovals on televison, what with their big mph speeds, are fantastic. Beats the H out of Napscar. In person, at the track, I'll still take NHRA or sprint cars. On 2nd thought, NHRA on tv is better than any of em.

Another great Indy car oval race. Hope this series takes off like it should.
