Augusta National Drag Boat Weekend

was a BLAST! I give it a 10 outta 10 weekend. $25 for two all day events is a bargain. The $2.75 beers were not ![Smile [:)]](/emoticons/smile.gif)
One thing describes drag boats. LOUD. The noise in the pits at a Nascar race pale in comparasion.
Plus, the boat were killer fast. The different classes of the boat were based on time. With a +13.00 being the slowest boats (about 80 mph in the 1/4 mile). The fastest were the top fuel hydro boats in the -6.00 class. The winner ran a 4.7439, a whopping 252.94 mph in the 1/4 mile. Amazing.
Since the race was on the Savannah River in Augusta, there was also a South Carolina lane, and a Georgia lane. To my wallets dismay, the Georgia lane always seemed a bit quicker.
If you have an open weekend this time next year, I highly recomemd this event. Great race fans and good times.
